Things to Do In Akihabara, Tokyo

Akihabara is a Huge area in Tokyo containing the latest and Coolest Gadgets, and you can play with everything!!

Shops are packed with the latest laptops, video games and gadgets. Things you'll see in your home country only a year or two from now.

Don't miss it even if you're not crazy about electronic Gadgets. It's one of the Most Fun things to do in Tokyo.
You don't have to be a nerd or a geek to love the area. There are so many other things which appeal to everyone.

Things to Do in Akihabara

Maid cafe's and butler cafés - young Japanese women or men dress in French-maid/butler outfits and treat their customers like masters.

Anime, Manga, and video games - It's the center of Japanese youth culture which includes fans of Japanese Animation and Cosplay.

Ishimaru Denki - This shop dates back to 1945 and they have 9 stores in this area alone. CDs, DVDs, video game software and games consoles.

Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba - A megastore with the largest floor area.
This shop can be reached directly from the JR subway Station.
Products are displayed by brand making it easy to find exactly what you want.

Laox - They have 8 stores in Akihabara only. Each shop has its own specialty - computers, watches, cameras, games and video games, including a duty-free shop and a TV and video game store - Asobit Game City.

Yamada Denki LABI PC Building - This store specializes in PCs and mobile equipment. As in every other Akihabara shop - you can try the product before you make the final decision.

Maid cafés and butler cafés - in these restaurants and cafés the menu usually includes western food. The big thing here is the service and the atmosphere. The staff treat the customers as masters and mistresses in a private home, feeding them. kneeling in front of them, playing kid's games.

En (5F Atre Vie Akihabara Building, 1-9 Kanda Hanaokacho) - A delicious Izakaya (Japanese restaurant and Bar) chain known for its beautiful interior. Small Japanese traditional dishes accompanied by excellent Japanese beer or Sake. A good time is garanteed. Open for lunch and dinner. Price range - affordable.

Marugo (Soto-Kanda 1-8-14) - Great tonkatsu served in a Japanese traditional joint not far from the JR train station (near the Livina lamp megastore) across the street from the north side of Ishimaru Denki (Ishimaru Electronics).

The Washington Hotel

1 minute walk from the JR train station, and 5 minute walk from the mega-stores and Maid Cafe's. The Washington hotel is priced well below the international hotel chains.
The hotel itself is brand new. The previous Washington hotel that occupied the site was torn down and this one was built in 2010 all new from the ground up.
The room is an average size for Japan. A good mattress and no noise from the street promise an excellent night's sleep.
Breakfast includes a nice assortment of Japanese and Western food.

The Remm Akihabara

The Remm

Great location steps from the JR subway station, easy to get around the city. Excellent service, front desk staff is courteous and communicates well in English. The rooms are small, but very well equipped including a massage chair, great shower and very clean. In short - A Lovely hotel which is a good cheap option in Tokyo.
