Tokyo Disney resort is very similar to all of the other Disneyland parks, but has its own unique Disneyland rides as well. So, How Do You Avoid Costly Mistakes And Wasting Precious Time In Disneyland In Tokyo?
Rule No.1: Never attempt to visit Disneyland in Tokyo during the weekend. Sunday is very crowded. Waiting time is advertised in the time frame and can be more than an hour at certain Disneyland Attractions. Overall the park seems to run very smoothly even when it's very busy. What really helps is the Japanese people's politeness and great manners. No queue jumpers here! Long queues can be avoided or at least reduced to the minimum, by buying the fast pass system which works very well. Waiting time for Tokyo Disneyland Rides with the Fast Pass is well below the advertised time frame. For example - the 'New monsters Inc' Ride was advertised at 100 mins, and only took us 30 mins to get through with the fast pass.
Rule No.2: Arrive right at opening time and get your fast pass immediately. At 10.30 on a weekday morning some Disneyland rides can be up to 100 minutes waiting time, with some fast passes already finished and others not available until 15:30. Arriving there is a breeze
(see Transportation to Disneyland Japan).
However, getting there at opening time 8am means struggling through the commuter crowds of Tokyo station during the morning rush. This with young children can be no fun. What is a FastPass? A Fast pass allows you to skip the queue and go to the fast pass queue, which is much shorter. To use it, just go to the Fast Pass machines, usually near the particular ride itself, insert your Park Passport and get a Fast pass ticket. Printed on the ticket is the time you can use the fast pass for this attraction. Fast passes are available only for the most popular rides.
Rule No.3: One day is not enough, even if the crowds are low. Thought you'd cover everything in just one day? Forget it! Disneyland Tokyo Japan and
Tokyo Disney Sea
are huge. How long should I stay? As long as you can afford. Frankly, on peak periods, you'll need 4 days, 2 at Tokyo Disneyland and 2 at Tokyo Disney Sea. However, on non-peak periods you'll be able to cover most of the parks in 1 day.
If you have only one day for this – just come with the right attitude and don't expect to experience all Disneyland Rides and Attractions. If you have more than one day I strongly recommend you stay in one of Tokyo Disneyland Hotels, which will save you time on transportation.
Although these hotels can be pricey, think in terms of a lifetime experience and time saving.
Even staying only one night in one of these hotels is worth it.Some of the hotels have a private entrance to the park, which saves you from standing in long lines.
Rule no.4: Do pre-purchase your tickets so you can go straight in. Tickets are sold at the main entrance, but usually there is a very long line, so it's better to purchase tickets in advance, while you are planning your vacation.
Rule No.5: Best time to visit Tokyo Disneyland - In one word - winter. A good idea would be to Plan your trip at 'off peak' to minimize costs and avoid endless queues at the Tokyo Disney Resort.
Did you know that until recently Disneyland Tokyo was the most visited theme park in the world? During the busy summer months the park sometimes closes its doors and stops letting people in around noon, because it has reached its maximum capacity. Summer isn't the
best time to visit Tokyo
anyway, so try to plan your visit so as to avoid peak seasons.
