Foods In Japan: How To Live Longer And Look Younger
Eating Japan Foods

Many people hesitate before tasting Foods In Japan,
That's a pity since there is nothing that will keep you energetic and young like Japan Foods-
Food Japan (c) at Flickr

Food in Japan won't make you feel heavy. Traditional Japan Food hardly contains any butter, sugar, fat or red meat.

Many westerners are surprised to find they lose a lot of weight eating the Typical Japanese Diet, making no effort at all.

Even Victoria Beckham confessed in a recent interview that her fabulous figure is a result of the Typical Japanese Diet "I eat really healthy, I love Japanese food, lots of fish, any sort of fish, any sort of vegetable, lots of fruit, that kind of thing".

The traditional Japanese Diet is considered one of the main reasons that local people have one of the longest life spans in the world.

Another thing you'll notice during your Tokyo vacation is how much younger everyone looks comparing to their age group in western countries.

If you believe Foods in Japan have anything to do with it, you'll absolutely love these...

The Secret Of Japan Foods

  1. Fish is king – in contrast with the popular belief, Food In Japan is based not on rice but on fish, which is consumed at almost half a pound a day per person. Usually there are two fish courses at every meal. When beef and chicken are included in the meal they are served in small portions.
  2. Sushi and Sashimi are raw fish or seafood, served with or without Rice.
  3. Dairy and bread ARE NOT part of Foods In Japan. They hardly eat any white flour at all. Japanese noodles are made from buckwheat flour.
  4. Soy beans are eaten in all shapes and sizes – you'll find them as tofu, Miso soup, Tempeh and Natto.

Soy products help reduce heart disease and high blood pressure and are a great source of protein.

  5. Japan Foods don't include sugary desserts. The Japanese desserts have a very subtle sweet taste, which comes from pounded rice (mochi) and sweet bean paste, mashed sweet potatoes and chestnuts.
  6. Here's a question – What Food In Japan is called 'brain food'?
Japanese consider Seaweed to be a food that makes you smarter. And indeed Seaweed provides lots of minerals, particularly Iodine. Seaweed is added to soups and sushi.
  7. If Fish is king of Foods In Japan, then Green Tea is Queen. All meals in Japan are served with Japanese green tea.
Green tea has half the caffeine of coffee and vitamins that help the digestive system.
  8. A Traditional Japanese Meal typically includes Japanese Rice, Miso soup, fish (usually two dishes – one hot and one cold), Japanese pickles and Green tea.
  9. Japanese Breakfast in Tokyo contains many small dishes which look like a lot of food to the western eye. Steamed, Miso soup, grilled fish, A Japanese omelet, Pickles, Nori, Natto and Green tea.
Together they make a 'power breakfast' that is surprisingly very light.
  10. I've kept the most important secret of Japan Foods for the end - it's simple, but hard to maintain - eating only until 80% full is a principle taught from young age in Japan.

And now for some very important…

Tips About Japan Restaurants

A very widespread belief is that Food in Tokyo has to be expensive. It's true that there are Tokyo Restaurants where you will pay a fortune, but besides them there are 1000's of Restaurants serving yummy food, without being expensive.

The Japanese office worker eats 2-3 meals a day in Restaurants. He ends his working day by drinking and eating with his colleagues before commuting home.

That's why the population of Tokyo has a Japanese Food Culture of plenty of affordable Restaurants along the day and into the Tokyo Nightlife scene.

If you're worried about hygiene, please don't. Here in Japan, unlike other Asian countries, it's clean and safe to eat everywhere.
