Things To Do In Marunouchi - Tokyo International Forum

Tokyo International Forum - International artists, Concerts, Ballet, art exhibitions and Modern dance shows.
The building houses 7 halls, a museum, shops and an open antique market on weekends. Made from steel and glass (designed by Rafael Vinoly), Tokyo International Forum is shaped like a boat. Nighttime view of the illuminated building is fantastic.

The Imperial Palace Tokyo - A magnificent Japanese Palace that is home to one of the most discreet Royal families in the world. The Japanese gardens surrounding the palace, the moat and the Japanese bridge are excellent for strolling (or jogging).

Marunouchi Brick Square (fourth floor of the Marunouchi Park Building) is a restored 19th century red brick mansion with terrace bars, a lush green garden and a promenade-style path.
With it's open cafe's, the square is a sanctuary of peace in the hectic financial and commercial area. At night the Brick Square is lit with soft lights of Meiji era-style gas lamps.

Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum (at the Brick Square complex, fourth floor of the Marunouchi Park Building) this compact museum is set inside a replica of the first office building in this area, from 1894. The museum displays a collection of late-19th-century graphics and crafts.

Ginza is 10 min by foot. Kabuki Theater, Tokyo Fish Market, Karaoke, Bars and Restaurants are all located in Ginza.

Shopping

The Marunouchi Building and the Shin-Marunouchi Building (1-minute walk from the Marunouchi South Gate of Tokyo Station) are 2 fabulous skyscrapers that are packed with up-scale boutiques carrying clothing and accessories, cosmetics, skin-care and Jewelery.
There's also a Hairdressing Salon and a Nails & Reflexology center.
The buildings have a Direct connection with Tokyo Station, which makes them an ideal Thing to Do in Tokyo during winter.

Nakadori Avenue An Elm tree lined shopping street running between the 2 skyscraper buildings (the Marunouchi Building and the Shin-Marunouch). The street is lined by cafe's and fashion boutiques. Soft evening lights on the trees make it one of the Most Romantic streets in Tokyo.

Restaurants

After office hours the area is packed with financial professionals winding down with a drink and dinner before commuting home.
The atmosphere is lively and fun. A Great place to mix with the locals.
The Marunouchi Building itself houses more then 70 restaurants, so there's something for every taste and budget - from French and Italian Restaurants, to the lively Japanese Izakaya and even a Starbucks coffee.

Peter The Hotel Peninsula's much talked-about fusion restaurant and Bar. Great views of the city and no cover charge.

Antwerp Central (Tokyo Bldg Tokia) A Belgian Brasserie and Beer Bar. The old-fashioned decor gives the place the feel of a European caf'e

En (Marunouchi Bldg. 5F) The En is a chain of Tokyo Restaurants that has beautiful traditional Japanese décor.
The En offers good Japanese food, a wide variety of reasonably priced drinks and a relaxed atmosphere.

Shunju Tsugihagi (Yurakucho 1-1-1, Nissay Theatre B1F) An izakaya (Japanese Bar plus Restaurant) that offers tofu dishes, premium seafood and grilled meats. English menu available.

Cotton Club (Tokyo Bldg Tokia 2F.) Live soul, R&B and jazz almost every night.

Subways

Tokyo Station is the busiest terminal in Tokyo for multiple Subway lines.
To get to Marunouchi you need any line that stops at Tokyo Station (which is basically all Subway lines in Tokyo).
Tokyo Station is also the central Train station in Tokyo, with Shinkansen trains (bullet trains) and other JR trains going to every spot in Japan.
