The Fabulous Marunouchi

Why Staying In A Marunouchi Hotel Is Great For Seeing Tokyo Attractions

Discover Marunouchi, the financial center of Japan by day and a trendy Tokyo nightlife spot.
Staying in a Marunouchi Hotel is a great location for Sightseeing Tokyo.

Marunouchi (c) OiMax at Flickr Unlike the districts around it - Ginza and Roppongi, this quarter was known as a boring and bland area of office skyscrapers.
Not any more!!

It started with the opening of the beautiful Tokyo International Forum designed by Rafael Vinoly.
This is the place for concerts, cinema, exhibitions, and dance performances.

Marunouchi (c) OiMax at Flickr Even more exciting is the Shin-Marunouchi Building.
35 floors above ground and four below create a fabulous building with couture boutiques, restaurants, bars and sake houses.

After work it's packed with the area's financial professionals winding down with a drink and dinner before commuting home.
The atmosphere is very lively and happy. A very 'off the beaten pass' place to see the locals.

There are also some very high class restaurants in the area, including the Peter, on the Top-floor of the luxury Marunouchi Tokyo hotel Peninsula. This Marunouchi hotel is shaped like a lantern. A glamorous example of contemporary Architecture.
The restaurant is known for theatrical design and panoramic views.

Best time to visit this lively Tokyo district is in the evening, when lights are on and the area is alive with people dining and drinking.

Christmas decorations in this Quarter are extravagant and very recommended!

The area is next to the imperial palace Tokyo.
