Restaurants

Gonpachi (1-13-11 Nishiazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo) - the cozy Izakaya with the traditional Japanese interior which inspired the big sword fight scene from 'Kill Bill'.
I love this place, although some say its ‘very touristy’, but I always have a good time there. They have a few Gonpachi in Tokyo, I’ve only been to this one.

Roku Roku - (at the Grand Hyatt Hotel 6F in Roppongi Hills). Sushi and sashimi and a wide selection of Japanese sakes from boutique distilleries. The design is inspired by Japanese interior.

Atelier de Joel Robuchon (Roppongi Hills 2F). The first overseas venture of the celebrity Michelin-starred chef. Seating is at a long counter running along the full length of the restaurant. This setup creates constant interaction with the chefs at the prep stations. The food combines French, Spanish and Japanese influences and can be sampled through a tasting menu or ordered a la carte. The wine list is international. No reservations are accepted, so prepare to queue.

Pintokona (Roppongi Hills-Metro Hat/Holly, take the escalator 2 floors down from Roppongi Hills). This revolving conveyor-belt sushi restaurant takes plates out of rotation after thirty minutes with the help of an electronic chip in each plate that keeps track of freshness.
