Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is one of the most Romantic things to do in Tokyo.

It is so similar to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, but somehow it never gained international recognition as its Parisian lookalike.

Could you imagine this huge tower was built after World War 2 using pieces of steel from the American battle tanks?

To learn more fascinating Tokyo facts on this beautiful Tokyo Attraction, try one of these Tokyo Tower Tours.

It's a 1,093-foot structure.
The steel structure was completed in 1958, and an interesting thing happened - it became a symbol for Japan's ambitions for peace.
You have to remember - it was a terrible time in the Japanese history.
Japan was trying to get over the defeat in world war 2.
Japanese people felt defeated and run down.

The city was almost wiped out by bombings. The bombs killed approximately 130,000 people in Japan.

That was a turning point in the History of Japan.
War has changed the Japanese people from extreme nationalism and fascism to surrender.

Originally it was intended for television and radio broadcasting antennas. Today it is still used for that purpose.

Tokyo Tower - A Night Time Attraction

There are two observation decks (but if you're looking for a skyline observation deck, this is not the best).

The steel monument is more of an attraction from the outside.

The sight of it at night is magical. It's illuminated beautifully and is certainly one of the most Romantic places in the city.

The Tower can be seen from many points in the city, but the best one would probably be from the Roppongi Hills complex which has an outdoor terrace with a stunning view of the city's skyline.
