Discover Tokyo Tower, One of the most Romantic things to do in Tokyo, the lookalike of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, which for some reason never gained international recognition as it’s French twin.
Tokyo Tower: The Basics
This glowing, wonderfully romantic tower was built after World War 2 using pieces of steel left behind from the American battle tanks.
Beneath the tower there’s a museum, restaurants and shops. The Tokyo tower offers two observation decks. The Main Observation deck is located at 150 meters height (490 ft), and the higher Observation deck reaches 249.6 metres (819 ft).
At the time it was built, Japan was trying to get over the defeat in world war 2. The city was almost wiped out by bombings. Japanese people felt defeated and run down. The Tower became a symbol for Japan’s ambitions for peace.
Besides being a Great Tokyo city Skyline Observatory it is used for television and radio broadcasting antennas too.
