Tips on Weather In Tokyo
Should Tokyo Weather influence your timing of a Tokyo vacation? The answer is yes. Find out what's the Best time to visit Tokyo and important Tips on weather in Tokyo Japan.
What is the weather in Tokyo like? Climate in Japan can be unpredictable. Imagine staying in the city during a typhoon. The wind swirls, hitting down bicycle shades, sending roofs flying, making a tremendous noise. A few hours later the wind calms down and you pull yourself together and stick your nose out the door. You simply cannot believe your eyes – the street has completely changed. You can hardly recognize the place – trees stand bare, stripped of all leaves, bicycles are piled up the roof, traffic signs have been bended as if they were made out of play dough.
Yes, Tokyo weather can be extreme.
September is the typhoon season. If you plan your visit at this time of the year you're probably wondering if the weather in Tokyo at this season is pleasant.I can assure you that only few typhoons are strong, usually it ends with some hard-hitting winds.

The Yearly Weather Tokyo Seasons
Summer (June-August) - Summer climate in Japan begins in June with the rainy season, which lasts between three weeks to one month. Although it doesn't rain every day, rain can be heavy. When the rainy season ends, Tokyo weather becomes extremely hot and sticky. This is certainly not the
best time to visit Tokyo.
Since the city is so crowded, the population contributes a few degrees to the tempratures. Concrete asphalt and continuously working air-condition systems produce artificial heat 24 hours a day. Mosquitoes are an issue during the wet season of weather in Tokyo. August generally brings this problem in parks and gardens. You rarely find them in the urban areas.
Autumn (September-November) is my personal favorite Tokyo weather. In October pleasant temperatures and a clear sky are the typical weather. Tokyo Night temperatures drop significantly. Fall foliage is at its best during November. Magnificent fall colors paint the
Japanese gardens
with a stunning blend of red and yellow.
Winter (December-February) temperatures are around 5 - 10 degrees Celsius/ 40 - 50 degrees Fahrenheit. These winter temperatures require packing winter clothes suitable for this climate in Japan
(see my ultimate packing checklist for Tokyo).
Be warned - Weather In Tokyo during winter is very dry, and gives your skin a hard time. Snowfall is infrequent, but can happen. It also affects the Subway.
Spring (March-May) is the most glorious time to visit Tokyo. That's when Japan's famous tree blossom starts, beginning with plum trees in March and continuing to April with
cherry blossom flower.
The Climate in Japan at this season is very pleasant, but spring rains can happen (which is a tragedy here because they cause the Cherry Blossom flowers to fall). Search TokyoTopGuide.com
