Tokyo designers first made a strong impression on the fashion world in 1982. A group of Japanese designers showed their collections in Paris at the prêt-a-porter shows – Rei Kawabuko’s Comme des Garcons, Issey Misake’s Misake Design Studios, and Yohji Yamamoto’s self named clothing line.
